Gwabbit Moves Email Signature Data into Outlook, Blackberry Address Books

Gwabbit.pngComputers have freed us from a lot of duplicate data entry, but not everywhere. Take those nicely formatted blocks of contact information you get in e-mail messages. If you're in a contact-intensive profession (or even if you're not), it can make you crazy switching back and forth between the e-mail and your Outlook contact form.

Gwabbit solves that problem, pulling data from signatures and dropping it into the correct fields in Outlook--or on your Blackberry. The company claims 90% accuracy, which is about what I got in my test; phone numbers were most often dropped if they were preceded by unusual characters, like "O" for Office Phone. Mostly, it behaved.

There's a 14-day free trial, after which the Outlook version has a one-time fee of $19.95. The Blackberry version is $9.99/year.

Consider me gwabbed.
